Eye Surgery Kit with Ivory-like Handles 
 



These beautiful ophthalmic surgery instruments are in a leather case. They date from the latter 1800's. They consist of forty-two, ivory-handled operative instruments, one ivory-handled, needle- holder; one adjustable, eyelid-retractor; various fine probes in a cylinder, an eyelid clamp for the treatment of cysts, an eyelid calibrator, and a parchment-covered drum for testing knife sharpness; nine miscellaneous probes, and a small tube of fluoroscein tablets. The case is worn but the instruments are in excellent condition. The latch is inscribe A Luer Paris.
